With 8 days to go, Climate Clock Tokyo is 90% of the way to their fundraising goal.
With only eight days left, Climate Clock Tokyo has reached an incredible 90% of their “all or nothing” fundraising goal. If they don’t reach 100% of their goal, they get nothing. Led by youth group a(n)action, who are all under the age of 20, Climate Clock Tokyo is raising 10 million JPY, the equivalent of about $90,000 usd, to install clocks across the Shibuya business district of Tokyo, pushing the conversation in Japan towards climate justice and climate action.
Shibuya is home to thousands of digital screens. The plan is to flood city screens with small climate clocks, highlighting a QR code that directs viewers to the a(n)action website, where people can learn/demand more action from the Japanese government. The crowdfunder will support the design and prototype of their climate clocks and website.
Message from Isao Sakai, a(n)action:
Japan is a country where the climate movement is strong, yet small. We are in desperate need of a radical increase in public awareness of urgency. There is a fast approaching deadline and no time to waste. With the Climate Clock project, we will nurture public understanding of the climate crisis and shift society to phase out from coal. Please support our project!
Support Climate Clock Tokyo in reaching their goal.
