What Is A Lifeline?
The Lifelines displayed on the Climate Clock represent our reasons for hope in the face of our Deadline. Each lifeline is a critical global solution to the climate emergency.
Lifelines also represent global, systemic solutions, not piecemeal solutions or those based on individual actions.
While the Deadline indicates when we need to act, the Lifelines indicate what we need to do. Together, the Deadline and Lifelines on the Climate Clock make explicit the speed and scope of action that political leaders must take in order to limit the worst climate impacts.
As publicly displayed metrics, our lifelines are backed up by robust, transparent, and accurate data.
Our Lifelines provide the baseline for key Climate Clock campaigns and help build compelling global, regional, and local narratives for climate justice.
